In a recent project with Connect Housing Association, we successfully upgraded the electrical storage heaters in a residential complex on Commercial Street in Dewsbury. This £360,000 project, completed over ten weeks, involved replacing heaters in 62 properties, housing a mix of elderly and vulnerable tenants.

Background
We were approached by Connect Housing Association to upgrade their existing electrical Storage heaters at Commercial St in Dewsbury. This consisted of 62 properties within a residential complex with a mixture of upstairs and downstairs dwellings. The planned works went out to tender to which we were successful and are now looking to work with Connect on other projects as well.
Challenges
- Tenant Safety and Well-being: Ensuring the safety of elderly and vulnerable
tenants amidst ongoing construction activities. - Limited Space Management: Dealing with space constraints within flats
during renovations and installations. - Communication and Coordination: Maintaining clear and continuous
communication with Connect Housing and residents to manage expectations
and mitigate challenges. - Health and Safety Prioritisation: Implementing stringent health and safety
measures to address equipment, material, and trip hazards. - Tenant Belongings Preservation: Taking extra care to protect tenants’
belongings and maintain cleanliness throughout the project duration.

- Project Completion: Successfully completed the installation of new kitchens as per the tender specifications, enhancing the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the properties.
